Malta team for Belgium qualifiers

National coach Damian Neill has selected a squad of 10 players for this weekend's FIRA European Women 7s Championship 2008 - Stage 2 qualifiers which will be played in Belgium.

The teams taking part were split in two sections. Malta will play in Pool B along with Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Moldova and Andorra.

Pool A is composed of Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark and Hungary.

Malta's first match is on Saturday against Norway. The semi-finals and classification play-offs are scheduled for Sunday.

The top three from Stage 1 and Stage 2 will qualify for the finals in France next month. They will join England, Russia, Wales, France, Italy, Scotland, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden and Portugal.

The first six-placed teams of the official final rankings, established at the end of the final tournament, qualify for the IRB Rugby World Cup Sevens 2009.

Malta squad: Amanda Cassar (Kavallieri), Esther Azzopardi (Kavallieri), Marion Azzopardi (Sharks), Victoria Aquilina (Kavallieri), Colette Abela (Kavallieri), Tessabelle Sultana (Sharks), Beverie Sultana (Sharks), Graziella Jones (Kavallieri), Ritienne Bondin (Kavallieri), Claire Casha (Sharks).
