French holiday resort operator Club Mediterrannee is in talks to sell its Jet Tours unit to European travel operator Thomas Cook, French newspaper La Tribune said yesterday.
The newspaper said Jet Tours could be valued at around €75 million and that a deal could be reached by mid-June.
Officials at Club Med could not immediately be reached for comment. Club Mediterranee SA is a France-based vacation club operator and travel organiser.
The company is present on four continents through vacation villages, a villa and the Club Med 2 cruise ship. Club Mediterranee also offers an array of tours and stays around the world through its Jet tour brand.
It operates a network of Club Med Gym fitness centres and a Club Med World urban entertainment centre in Paris.
In France, the company has sales outlets via alliances signed with chains, such as Selectour, Protravel, Accor, Carlson Wagon Lit, Afat, Leclerc Voyages and Thomas Cook.
In addition, it operates Club Med Voyages agencies and Jet tours travel agencies. Club Mediterranee is headquartered in Paris, France.
