The first phase of the move of additional flights into Heathrow Terminal 5 will take place on June 5, BAA and British Airways said.
The flights include services to and from New York JFK. The other seven destinations are Abuja, Bangalore, Beijing, Cairo, Cape Town, Lagos and Phoenix.
British Airways flies eight times a day to New York JFK and provides a daily service on the other routes. All flights now operate from Terminal 4 and combined they amount to about a quarter of the airline's Terminal 4 schedule.
The addition of the eight cities equate to another 15 departures and 15 arrivals daily from Terminal 5, bringing the total amount of long-haul flying in Terminal 5 to 30 departures and 30 arrivals everyday as from June 5.
Willie Walsh, British Airways' chief executive said Terminal 5 is now working well.
BAA chief executive Colin Matthews said BAA and his organisation continue to work together to complete the migration of the remaining long-haul services "as soon as is practicable".
