Police find 1,000 ecstasy pills

The police have arrested three people after finding over 1,000 ecstasy pills in an operation which lasted several weeks.

The arrests were made yesterday in Naxxar after police officers stopped a couple from Qrendi and a man from Zabbar, all in their 30s. Almost 1,000 pills were found on the man from Qrendi.

Various raids were then made on properties belonging to the three and more pills and drug-related material were found in the residence of the couple in Qrendi and a garage in Marsa.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi is holding an inquiry. Further investigations are being conducted by the police Drug Squad.
