How greener was the valley in Paola
I read with pleasure the news carried in this newspaper on May 16, that Mepa has extended the boundaries of the protection zone around Ħarq Ħammiem Valley.
But at the same it saddens me when I look at the way our Wied Blandun in Paola is being raped without anyone raising a finger. I am appealing to Mepa to inspect this beautiful valley and order a stop to the damage being done.
This valley has already suffered a lot in the past and it is time to include what remains as a protection area. The fact that the local council has never bothered to give any attention to this heritage site is to be condemned.
