Whisky connoisseurs' gathering

International and local whisky connoisseurs met at Le Meridien Hotel, St Julian's, to participate in the Scotch Whisky Connoisseurs of Malta - Friends of the Quaich annual gala dinner.

This year's event was sponsored by Johnnie Walker scotch whisky through distributors M. Demajo Ltd. Johnnie Walker signature drinks, including one based on apple juice, were used to welcome the guests.

The evening included a ceremony during which Matthew Miceli Demajo, Silvio Carabott, Aaron Rizzo, Richard Lee and Clifton Cassar became new members of Friends of the Quaich. The investiture was followed by a five-course gourmet dinner prepared by Le Meridien's chefs.

The evening came to an end with a tutored tasting session involving Johnnie Walker's flagship range.

The session was conducted by Aaron Rizzo and guests were taken through the finer points of Johnnie Walker Black, Green and Blue Label.
