This year's MCAST 36-hour hairdressing marathon raised over €42,000 for the Malta Hospice Movement and Id- Dar tal-Providenza. The management of both organisations thanked Dorothy Meli, head of the Hairdressing School and the staff and students concerned with organising the marathon.

This army of very generous and committed adults and youths, carried out various hair and beauty treatments, car wash services, car engine testings and bazaar services, over a period of 36 hours with much effort and hard work.

The detailed planning and efforts in setting up and running such a huge event, together with the contribution of various local TV personalities contributed to the success of the event.

The managements of both organisations contributed towards the success of this event. A group of students also camped at Id-Dar tal-Providenza for a weekend where they provided the services
