Bulgarian Football Union president Borislav Mihaylov said yesterday he did not believe the disappearance of Bulgarian club chief Angel Bonchev was connected with soccer.

The 47-year-old Bonchev, who is president of Litex Lovech, disappeared in the early hours of Thursday near his home in Darvenitsa.

"Bonchev is a marvellous person," Mihaylov told reporters after meeting Bulgaria's Interior Minister Mihail Mikov.

"As far as I know, Bonchev has no enemies, so it's impossible his disappearance is soccer-related.

"I'm extremely embarrassed but I hope that the state can cope with this case," he added.
