Italy's Marzio Bruseghin, of the Lampre team, won the Giro d'Italia 10th stage individual time trial from Pesaro to Urbino yesterday. Italy's Giovanni Visconti, of the Quick Step team, retained the overall race lead. Bruseghin set a time of 56 minutes 41 seconds for the hilly course. Spain's Alberto Contador was eight seconds slower with his Astana team-mate Andreas Kloden, of Germany, third, at 20 seconds. Today's 199km 11th stage runs from Urbania to Cesena.

Basket, NBA

The San Antonio Spurs booked their place in the Western Conference final with a 91-82 win over the Hornets in New Orleans on Monday. The defending NBA champions will play the Los Angeles Lakers in the conference final, with Game One in Los Angeles tonight.
