The police have made five arrests after finding drugs in a residence in Ghaxaq and a hotel room in Paceville.

A man and a woman from Ghaxaq and another man from Marsaxlokk were arrested after heroin which was ready for trafficking was found in the Ghaxaq residence during a raid.

The other two arrests, both 22-year-old men, from Sliema and Birkirkara, were made after the police found heroin and cocaine also ready for sale, in a hotel room.

Further investigations are under way.

The police said its Economic Crimes Unit had also seized 100 garments bearing false designer labels from a Qawra shop, while 1,000 DVDs suspected to be copied were seized from a shop in Birkirkara.
