MLP to publish election analysis report

The MLP said tonight that the full report prepared by a commission appointed to analyse the March 8 general election will be published on the party website and distributed among the party delegates on Monday. The report will be discussed by the executive on Saturday and Monday.

The decision was taken after a meeting of the party executive this evening.

Before singing praises can we please have a categoric assurance that the report will be published in original format and without censorship?

Rumours are already circulating that what will be published will be a revised version after editing inputs. If this is so better not to puiblish anything at all.

Excellent! At least this decision preempts it being leaked on the coming Sunday. A good way to start next week. I am looking forward to next Monday! (Hope I’m not doused in whitewash though).
Why don't delegates get together and discuss it as well. I am sure there is something to be said for critical analysis. It needn't be a negative exercise but an opportunity to seize the day. That's the way forward to making informed decisions.

Was very pleased with this decision. It shows that the MLP is becoming more transparent and more inclusive. The PN in 2004 kept this report under wraps (or at least tried to).

This is positive. Hope the PN does the same.

Thank God for small mercies! And yet they are happy. Well...that's life.

Good job. That is what I call transparency. At. least, anybody interested to know what the report had to say, can do so without any hidrance. It is important too, that the delegates give a good look at the report since in the coming days they will be called upon to make a very important decision for the benefit of the MLP and Malta: elect a winner in 2013.
All delegates are urged to used their mind and not their heart so finally they will come to a decision that hopefully will see a Labour prime minister going up the steps of Castille following the next general elections. It is a long and unwindy road, but with the right spirit and resolve, Labour can get there.

I would summarize the analysis of the defeat of the Malta Labour Party in the general election of March 8th in two words:
ALFRED SANT

A hearty well done to Labour's executive group for this wise decision. This is indeed opening up the windows in Mile End to let in a breath of fresh air. The next step is to elect a leader who will be able to give the Malta Labour Party the respect it deserves.
Mark Pisani (on 20/5/08)
Well done MLP!
