Archbishop meets young volunteers
Archbishop Paul Cremona met around 225 young people who will do voluntary work in Malta or abroad. He told them voluntary work is a perfect example of where the Holy Spirit can be found as well as an internal voyage as a step towards joining the missions.
He said young people therefore need to give importance to such opportunities.
Referring to the Samaritan in the Gospel, the Archbishop spoke about the need to give importance to each and every individual met along this voyage as they all are important. Whenever thousands of people die in tragic disasters, with them are lost thousands of unique stories of particular meaning. Archbishop Cremona presented each and every organisation and volunteer with a knapsack symbolising the internal voyage to be undertaken by the volunteers.
The next appointment with the volunteers will be on September 12 to welcome them back.
The meeting, held last Friday, was coordinated by SPYS (Salesian Pastoral Youth Service) and ĊAM Youths and commissioned by the Diocesan Youth Commission (KDŻ) at the University Chaplaincy.
