Opera House project
I refer to Richard England's letter (May 15) regarding the Opera House new project.
The Edward de Bono Foundation wishes to clarify that it only acts as a meeting facilitator in the new project and is not in charge of any architectural aspects of it.
The new Opera House project is under the direct management of the Caravaggio Foundation and architect Giovanni Trevisan.

The Opera House is a very sad sight to come across on entering a very Historical City. Even if it (the City) was not so historical, in my opinion, diminishes the beauty of the City itself. Looking at the original picture of the Opera House, in its glory, makes my heart miss a beat and feel ashamed that the men in power have not done anything about it yet. Every country I have visited, whether western european or eastern european have their own Opera House, and, therefore, can not understand why Malta is lacking behind. In my opinion, The Opera House should be resurrected to its original majestic look, sooner rather than later.

After any catastrophe whether it is Nagasaki...........The Twin Towers.......The Capitols of Europe after world War II........the thing to do is re-build.... showing that strength of Character and the knowledge that you can kick us down........but........we shall stand up again.
67 Years have gone since the bombing of the Opera House......Has to be the only place left to be rebuilt........Shows defeat.

In 1959 my work took me to Japan, Osaka to be exact, I was there for three months, as the saying goes `curiosity kill the cat`, so with a couple of newly-made Japanese friends I went to Nagasaki to see what actually happen to this city following the aftermath of the Atomic Bomb.
Nagasaki was rebuilt and running, highways, beautiful tree-lined avenues, under and orerground trains, ten-lane traffic roads and spotless.
Yet in this blessed Isle we are still talking about a ruin that occured some 67 years ago.
