The MSSF has just held an athletics meeting for church and independent girls' schools at St Aloysius College.

A record number of ten schools took part in various disciplines which included short and long distance races, shot put, long jump, high jump and discus.

Categories ranged from U-12 to U-15 and the sponsors on the day were Powerade.

The schools that took part were St Catherine's High, St Martin's, San Andrea, San Anton, St Dorothy's, Sacred Heart, St Joseph (Blata l-Bajda), St Joseph (Sliema), St Monica and St Theresa.

Points were awarded to athletes for each event in all disciplines.

In the junior categories, U-12 and U-13, San Andrea finished first in the classification ahead of the Sacred Heart girls. In seniors, San Andrea also finished first and Sacred Heart runners-up.
