St Julian's man accused of defrauding 16 people

A St Julian's man was yesterday accused of defrauding 16 people and misappropriating around €2,795 (Lm1,200) between April 2006 and March 2007.

Before Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, Simon Spiteri, 44, was charged with fraud and misappropriation and committing a crime during his suspended sentence. The magistrate turned down the man's request for bail and he was remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Angelo Gafa prosecuted.
