Dana International, the Israeli Eurovision singer who sailed to victory in 1998, is back on the scene, this time as the author of Israel's entry, The Fire in Your Eyes.

In 1998, Chiara, competing with the song The One That I love could smell victory, but saw the coveted award snatched from her in the last vote, leaving Dana International to walk off with the title.

Her song Diva kept making waves, and today she is arguably the most famous transsexual celebrity in the world. Last night, she again stole the limelight at Ukraine's party, despite her attempts to push this year's contestant Boaz out of her shadow.

During her entrance, Dana stopped to embrace Morena and wish her luck for Thursday's semi-final.

"Sometimes you can be all sparkly and full of glitter, like me, and win, or you can be simple and be just as effective," she said when asked about Chaira's performance in 1998, and later in 2005 when she competed in Ukraine with Angel.

Giving Morena a quick hug, she turned to face the waiting crowd, which all wanted a bit of her.
