One minute silence for China quake victims
The general conference of the Malta China Friendship Society yesterday paid its respects to the thousands of victims of the earthquake in China by observing a minute of silence.
Society president Reno Calleja also asked the Chinese Embassy in Malta to convey the society's condolences and deep regret to the Chinese people.
Mr Calleja, who was confirmed as president, recalled that only last September he was in the same area worst hit by the earthquake trying to attract investment to Malta.
