Citrus growers taught disease prevention

A meeting was held for citrus growers in Gozo aimed at raising awareness about diseases which could harm orchards.

Emphasis was placed upon the preventive care to be taken in order to reduce the possibility of such diseases taking hold. Gozitan farmers produce about 60 per cent of the annual citrus fruit production which passes through the pitkali centres in Malta and Gozo.

The meeting was organised by the Department of Projects and Development within the Ministry for Gozo and the Plant Health Department within the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs.
