Collision on Gozo ferry

In the letter Warden Acted Correctly (May 8), Patrick Busuttil, the general manager of Guard & Warden Service House Ltd, made a reference to my comment where I had claimed that when I was involved in a collision on the Gozo ferry I had to wait 45 minutes for the warden to arrive from Msida. He said that this incident must have occurred over a year ago since the procedure has been changed.

I wish to inform Mr Busuttil that this occurred on Sunday, November 4, 2007 in the early afternoon. This is six months ago. Therefore, if the procedures have been changed, they have not produced the desired effect!

Mr Busuttil also advised drivers in such cases to take their vehicles off the ferry. I stand to be corrected, but if the vehicles involved in a collision are moved, on what basis will the warden write his report? Will it be based only on the drivers' version of accounts? If the other driver and I had done as Mr Busuttil advised, the ferry would have left Ċirkewwa by the time the warden would have arrived, along with the members of the Gozo channel crew who witnessed the incident.
