Finance school to organise banking programme

The intensive 10-day European Banking Programme, sponsored by Erasmus and the EU, with support from the ifs School of Finance, will this year take place in Malta. It has also been recently confirmed that the programme will continue for at least another two years.

Five partner universities - Loughborough (United Kingdom), Liechtenstein, Cyprus, Malta and Riga (Latvia) chose six students each to participate in the annual programme, held each year at one of the universities.

Within the current 10-day programme, the selected students contribute a written assignment and presentation concerning an aspect of the fund management industry in their home country. Discussions then take place comparing and contrasting markets, legal systems and practice. Additionally, there is a focus on current problems in innovation and discussion of management issues such as accounting for funds, taxation, cost structure and cost transparency, performance evaluation and performance transparency as well as risk management. Student presentations, company visits and meetings with investment fund professionals, input lectures and the integration of a portfolio management game round up the programme.
