MUT directives at Mcast to go on after inconclusive meeting

The directives ordered by the Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) at Mcast were reinstated after a meeting between the union and the college officials at the office of the Director of Labour was inconclusive, the MUT said.

On May 5, lecturers at Mcast were directed not to perform any duties apart from delivering lectures.

The union had then said it was calling the strike after no progress was achieved in talks over the new collective agreement.

Students especially those in the final year have protested over the union directives saying they were the victims of this tug of war.
