Would it not be more logical to have a single refuse collection on Tuesdays, which would be solely for the collection of separated waste? After all, we manage to cope with the weekend's waste, when we probably generate a greater volume than any other...

Would it not be more logical to have a single refuse collection on Tuesdays, which would be solely for the collection of separated waste? After all, we manage to cope with the weekend's waste, when we probably generate a greater volume than any other two days of the week, without the benefit of a refuse collection on Sunday. Eliminating one "normal" collection on Tuesday should not cause any problems.

The resulting financial savings resulting from the adoption of this suggestion could then be used to subsidise the cost, or even allow the free issue, of the grey bags.

As an additional benefit, it would give the refuse truck operators more time to clean their vehicles between collecting normal and separated wastes.
