Obituary
FENECH. On May 12, WILFRID, widower of Hilda, aged 88, passed away peacefully at St James Hospital, Sliema, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his only son Anthony and his wife Maria Aurora, his grandchildren Nicole Marie and Jean Paul, his brother's widow Rose, his nephews George and his wife Gladys, and Philip, his niece Elizabeth, widow of Gaetano, his late wife's relatives, his daughter-in-law's family Godfrey, Doris, Vanya and Konrad, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said at the Balzan parish church, today at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.
Special thanks to the staff at Casa Antonia, the staff of the third floor St James Hospital, medical consultant and doctor for their care and dedication.
Lord grant him eternal rest.

Ambassador to UAE
Malta's non-resident Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Godwin Montanaro, presented his credentials to the President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The presentation ceremony was held at Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi.
The President expressed the UAE's firm desire to further boost its ties with friendly nations and assured the ambassador that he will be accorded all assistance and support from all authorities in UAE. He wished him success in his mission.
Songs Of Praise
To celebrate its Patronal Festival, Songs Of Praise will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican church, Rudolph Street, Sliema on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. This will be followed by refreshments, music and a quiz in the church hall. For tickets for the refreshments and activities, one can phone on 7990 5986 or 2133 0575. The cost is €5 (Lm2.15) for adults and €2.5 (Lm1.07) for children.
Ecumenical celebration
On the occasion of the feast of Pentecost, the Malta Ecumenical Council will be holding a celebration, entitled Stir Us, Free Us, aiming at uniting Christians in prayer from different denominations. The celebration, which will be open to all, will take place this evening between 7.15 and 8.30 at St Paul's Anglican Pro-Cathedral, Valletta.
Bir Miftuħ Festival
A flute and mediaeval percussion performance featuring Giorgia Santoro and Vito de Lorenzi will open Din l-Art Ħelwa's Bir Miftuħ Festival on May 23. Tickets for the concert sell at €20 (Lm8.58) and include refreshments after the performance. Tickets are available from Din l-Art Ħelwa's offices at 133, Melita Street, Valletta. For further information one may phone 2122 0358 or 2122 5952 between 9 a.m. and noon during the week.
Heritage properties
Din l-Art Ħelwa has announced the opening times of its Gozo and Comino properties.
The Dwejra Tower in Gozo is open from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Santa Marija Tower on Comino is open until October on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 10.30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The Santa Marija Gun Battery, also on Comino, is open throughout the day.
Open day
The St John Rescue Corps will be holding an open day at their premises in Fort Madalena, Madliena, on Sunday between 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.
Adlerian meeting
The Malta Adlerian Psychology Association will be holding a meeting this evening at 6.30 at the Archbishop's Curia in Floriana.
Musical programme
The St Julians band club, in collaboration with the St Julian's local council, will be presenting the annual musical programme on June 1 at 8.30 p.m. at Spinola, St Julians. Manoel Pirotta will be directing the band.
Fun Run
The Fun Run at Ta' Qali to encourage physical activity will take place on May 24 and not March 24 as reported in The Times yesterday.
