Capello names squad for England friendlies

England manager Fabio Capello named a 30-man squad yesterday for the friendlies against the US and Trinidad & Tobago later this month.

Nine players from Champions League finalists Manchester United and Chelsea were selected, including Chelsea skipper John Terry who dislocated his elbow in his side's 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers yesterday.

Former first choice keeper Paul Robinson was omitted but LA Galaxy's David Beckham was included.

Everton's Phil Jagielka and Blackburn's Stephen Warnock are both in the squad for the first time.

England play the US at Wembley on May 28 before travelling to play Trinidad & Tobago on June 1.

Squad: Goalkeepers: Hart (Man. City), James (Portsmouth), Kirkland (Wigan).

Defenders: Bridge, Cole, Terry (all Chelsea), Wheater (M'Boro), Ferdinand, Brown (both Man. Utd), Johnson (Portsmouth), Woodgate (Tottenham), Jagielka (Everton), Warnock (Blackburn).

Midfielders: Barry (A. Villa), Lampard, J. Cole (Chelsea), Gerrard (Liverpool), Beckham (Galaxy), Jenas, Huddlestone (both Tottenham), Hargreaves (Man. Utd), Bentley (Blackburn), Downing (M'Boro).

Strikers: Walcott (Arsenal), Agbonlahor, Young (both A. Villa), Owen (Newcastle), Rooney (Man. Utd), Cro-uch (Liverpool), Defoe (Portsmouth), Ashton (West Ham).
