Appoġġ's Cottonera Community Service has joined forces with the Employment and Training Corporation and Aċċess Community Resource Centre to launch a project entitled Dawl - Energy, Employment and Empowerment.

The project has the support of the Vittoriosa and Kalkara local councils and Vodafone Malta Foundation.

Dawl aims to increase the employability of women who have been out of the labour market for a number of years by providing hands-on training for unemployed women.

One of the objectives is to increase the female participation rate in the labour market by improving their opportunities for work.

This project will benefit 60 families from Vittoriosa, Cospicua, Senglea and Kalkara.

Dawl is being adapted from its successful implementation in Mosta and Żejtun by SOS Malta, in partnership with Paolo Friere Institute, Friends of the Earth (Malta), the Mosta local council and the Ministry of Rural Affairs and the Environment.
