Sir Anthony Mamo undoubtedly had a highly-successful career. His, success, however, was not only outward but a lasting one.

His inner strength was reflected in his gentle ways, his kindness, his smile, his joy, his serenity and his integrity.

As Archbishop Paul Cremona said during the funeral Mass, Sir Anthony's exemplary life, combining a high ranking public role and a way of life based on Christian values, should encourage everyone to follow in his footsteps.

Malta is richer for having had Sir Anthony. One can easily say he lived Archbishop Cremona's motto: Let us prepare the way for the Lord.

He is now enjoying the presence of the Lord who said: "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26)
