General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, local bottlers of Coca-Cola, yesterday launched the 'Coca-Cola Goal! Campaign 2008', a new initiative embarked upon in collaboration with the Malta Football Association and Euro 2008.

Details of this campaign were announced by Martin Agius, Sales and Marketing Manager of the firm in the presence of MFA president Joe Mifsud at a press conference at the Westin Dragonara Resort.

Dr Mifsud said that the match against Austria on May 30 will be another opportunity for the technical preparation of our national team in view of the World Cup qualifying group commitments, whilst for the Austrians it will be a final work-out before their participation in Euro 2008.

It was also revealed that a Malta representative XI will be playing against the Belgian Olympic team on the eve of the Trophy final later this month.

National coach Dusan Fitzel said that this match against the Belgian Olympic team will be an opportunity for him to draft younger faces from the U-21 ranks in his squad.

Referring to the campaign, Mr Agius said that as official sponsors of Euro 2008 internationally, Coca Cola is in a position to offer all-inclusive VIP packages to the Euro 2008 finals, which include return flights, accommodation, Vienna sight-seeing tours, Coca-Cola merchandise, VIP treatment and exclusive category 2 match tickets for the Euro 2008 final match scheduled to be held at the Ernst Heppel Stadium in Vienna on June 29.

The firm is also offering a number of all-inclusive packages to the Euro 2008 quarter-finals to be played in Vienna on June 22. This attractive package includes four nights accommodation from June 21 to 25.

"Moreover, through this campaign, Coca-Cola aims to support local football talent. In fact, 30 lucky participants in the 'Coca-Cola Goal Campaign' will be taken on an all-inclusive trip to Graz to watch and support the Malta national team in their friendly match against Austria on May 30," Mr Agius said.

To participate in this campaign consumers, either through SMS or by post, should send the unique code peeled from the label of the PET bottles, to General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd., Industrial Estate, Marsa. The first draw to determine the 30 winners will be held on May 23.
