Two brothers and a woman were yesterday arraigned on drug charges following a police raid in an apartment in Sta Venera on Tuesday.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke heard Joseph Calleja, 30, plead not guilty to trafficking in heroin, being in possession of the drug and relapsing.

His 28-year-old brother, Noel, pleaded not guilty to trafficking in cocaine, being in possession of heroin, assaulting the police and relapsing. He also pleaded not guilty to breaching the conditions of a previous release.

Doreen Bugeja, 33, pleaded guilty to the possession of heroin but not guilty to trafficking in the drug.

Magistrate Clarke remanded them in custody.

Police Inspector Jesmond Borg prosecuted.
