Students debate energy, global warming

Students from various schools this morning debated energy and global warming issues with various ministers, MPs, MEPs and NGO representatives.

Throughout the debate, held at the Presidents’ Palace to mark Europe Day, the students stressed on the importance of education on the matter and urged politicians to use their authority to address this global issue.

They also called on each individual to play their part in every day life by not wasting precious energy.

At the end of the debate the students met President Eddie Fenech Adami in the Palace courtyard. There students raised the 27 flags of member states as well as the EU’s flag.

A prize-giving ceremony followed during which schools were awarded with prizes for projects related to Spring Day activities.
