Stray dogs creating 'an atmosphere of terror' in Swieqi
Residents in Swieqi phoned The Times offices this evening complaining about a number of stray dogs in the area, which according to one resident were “creating a terrifying atmosphere”. Residents said they have reported the matter to the St Julians police station.
When contacted by The Times, the police, while confirming the reports, said they had no means by which they could handle the situation.
Residents alleged that the dogs were butchering cats in the area and were creating an “atmosphere of terror” to both children and mothers with pushchairs. Another resident said that at one time he saw no fewer than 17 strays.
Residents appealed to the competent authorities to remedy the situation before a serious incident occurs.
