Teaming up with art students from the Mcast, GreenPak is building some fascinating sculptors made of cans.

Sculptures as high as two metres will be built in the Art Square of the Earth Garden from tins and cans provided by GreenPak members.

Earth Garden Festival 2008 will be held at the National Park, in Ta' Qali tomorrow and on Sunday from 2 p.m.

As the main sponsor of the event, GreenPak will be responsible for recycling all packaging waste generated during the two-day event. Visitors will be guided towards the many recycling banks laid out throughout the garden and the public is encouraged to separate the packaging waste from the other waste streams in these banks.

A much anticipated encounter by young children and the GreenPak Kids is the visit of Green Gray. Supported by a troupe of animators, Green Gary - GreenPak's mascot - will be the centre of attention holding many games and crafts.

In line with GreenPak's objectives, children will be encouraged to protect the environment by learning simple ways of how to help minimise Malta's waste through waste recycling.

Earth Garden is a festival incorporating art, music and culture with the main aim being increasing environmental awareness. GreenPak and Earth Garden share a common scope - the safeguarding of the environment.

Since it was established in 2005, GreenPak has been recycling packaging, thereby reducing primary resource material and diverting significant amounts of waste away from landfills.
