The Malta Labour Party is at a most important junction in its long and splendid history. One road which it will not be taking is the one which leads to nowhere. However, there are only two paths left to follow, in my opinion.
One is to ignore its members and take the road to a bleak future and the other is to allow the party base to air its views in the upcoming election for the leader. The latter road would entice more members to join the party and would also encourage the apprehensive voters to place their trust and confidence in it.
But, God forbid, if the delegates take the misguided decision not to refer to the party base in this, most important turn in the life of such a great movement, then I opine that the MLP would be heading towards a disaster.
