Din L-Art Ħelwa will be holding the 12th edition of the Bir Miftuħ International Music Festival between May 23 and June 14.
The event consists of four concerts taking place in Gudja at the church of Santa Marija Ta' Bir Miftuħ which, with its mediaeval frescoes and perfect acoustics, makes a delightful backdrop for the unique repertoires and talented national and international performers.
All concerts start at 8 p.m. and all funds raised are dedicated to Din l-Art Ħelwa's restoration projects.
Giorgia Santoro on the flute and Vito de Lorenzi on the percussions will be performing on May 23 while Sarah Spiteri on the violin and Alexander Vella Gregory on the harpsichord will be performing on May 31.
The Wiener Solisten Quartett, composed of Wolfgang Gollner and Viktor Adrian Roman on the violin, Endre Guran on the viola and Klaus Steinberger on the cello, will be performing on June 6 and Simon Schembri will be performing a classic guitar recital on June 14.
Tickets for each concert cost €20 (Lm8.58) per person, including refreshments after the performance, and will be issued on a first come first served basis. These are available from Din l-Art Ħelwa offices at 133, Melita Street, Valletta.
