Reigning champions Hibs Medsea beat Depiro 64-41 in the second match of the Peugeot League's final series on Sunday after Depiro had won the first leg 52-46 in midweek. The women's basketball champions will be determined next Sunday in the third game of the series.

Hibs put the upset of the first leg aside on Sunday as Depiro looked overwhelmed by the occasion and had a subdued game.

Depiro led 9-8 early on but that was the only time they were ahead of Hibs in this match. Eight consecutive points, opened the way for Hibs' victory. The champions led 22-14 at the end of the first quarter.

The second session was less eventful. Hibs looked more accurate in their shooting though. They held control to open a 32-23 lead at half-time.

Veteran forward Doreen Micallef and playmaker Kirsten Micallef were in fine form for Hibs.

Between them they went on to score 33 points as Hibs Medsea survived Depiro's attempts to get back in the game at the start of the last quarter to cruise to a comfortable victory.

Peugeot League final (Game Three): Sunday, 2.30 p.m. Hibs vs Depiro.
