Persons travelling to Austria or Switzerland for the 2008 European Championship football tournament from June 7 to 29 are to ensure they are inoculated against measles, the Health Division said.

The inoculation has been recommended by the European Centre for Disease Control in view of the substantial number of cases of measles reported in those countries.

The inoculation is free of charge and should be taken three weeks before departure. The Inoculation Centre, situated at the Floriana Health Centre, opens from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

It is also recommended that the second dose of the inoculation is taken three months after the first one.
