Day of the Midwife
The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses joined counterparts around the world to celebrate the International Day of the Midwife yesterday.
The aim of the day is to celebrate midwifery and to raise awareness of the importance of midwives' work. This year the theme was: Healthy Families: The Key To The Future.
MUMN said the care provided by the midwife goes far beyond hospital and that midwifery care should be based in the primary health sector.
