I mean to be no killjoy and can accept that humour, even in the form of a candid camera, helps us relax from our stressful life. However, I wish to express concern over a certain candid camera plot as aired on a local television programme called Paprati.

The scene fakes a pedestrian hit- and-run investigation on the vehicle of the prank victim and involves persons, actors or not, in apparent or genuine Malta police uniforms, complete with genuine-looking arm badges and cap badges. The scene is furthermore propped by using what looks like official Pulizija marker tape.

I hope that all those involved can prudently forsee what I am leading to with regard to the informal use of the Malta police uniform.
