Orthodox bishops from different countries will be converging on Malta this week for the EMO VII Conference - Encounters of Monks from the East and the West - on the initiative of the Oriental Pontifical Institute of Rome.

The theme of the conference, which is being held in collaboration with the Fondation de Malte from Thursday to May 11, is Spirituality For The People - On The Wavelength Of St Paul, Mobility And Stability.

The welcoming address will be delivered by Archbishop Paul Cremona at St Paul's Church, Rabat on Thursday at 7.15 p.m. Apart from attending various conferences, on the Friday the delegates will be going to a celebration of the feast of St Ġorġ Preca at the MUSEUM Chapel, Blata l-Bajda.

This will be followed by a lecture by Prof. Edward G. Farrugia, Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome, on St Ġorġ Preca, Second Father In The Faith: History Repeats Itself Only Once, The Second Time.

They will also attend a Pentecost Vigil at St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta on May 10 at 7.30 p.m.
