Ten-man Valletta beat eternal rivals Floriana

A ten-man Valletta squad this afternoon beat rivals Floriana 2 - 0.

Valletta took the lead following Frank Temile's lob over Floriana goalkeeper Jurgen Micallef. One minute from half-time, to the disappointment of the excited Valletta crowd, Temile was sent off following an incident with an opponent.

Two minutes from half-time, Gilbert Agius caught Micallef by surprise with a long-distance shot, pushing the score up to 2-0 for the city.

Agius was voted best player of the match.

Valletta were crowned champions yesterday when Birkirkara beat Marsaxlokk.
