Parliamentary research officers

Chapter 2, Section 2.3 of Azzjoni Nazzjonali's electoral manifesto clearly states: "A Research Office will be set up for the service of all MPs".

We now learn that the Prime Minister, Lawrence Gonzi, has offered Opposition leader Alfred Sant to employ 10 research officers to support MPs, five each for each party. Such an offer did not, of course feature in the long list of PN electoral promises.

It is becoming more and more clear that Azzjoni Nazzjonali's proposals were valid contributions that were, naturally, bypassed by the liberal-leftist 'independent' media but not, it now transpires, by the so-called Partit Nazzjonalista.
