A friend of mine who attends physiotherapy sessions reported at Boffa Hospital only to find that the physiotherapist failed to report for work.
She was very upset. She felt that the least the hospital staff could do was to inform her by phone that the appointment was postponed. There was ample time. This would have saved her a lot of hassle.
Since my friend could not drive due to an injury, somebody had to take time off from work to act as the Good Samaritan, not to mention the time spent driving through Floriana in search of a parking space.
It is a pity that people are made to suffer unnecessarily due to the indifference of others.
A point worth mentioning is that in case she could not keep the appointment given to her, she had to inform the hospital immediately, so that 'her' appointment would be passed on to somebody else.
What if this reasoning were to apply to both sides?
