The lack of political will on the Gozo air link issue is a major obstacle despite the 'election fears' about the regional airport at Ta' Lambert, which has become a vital issue.

To date it still remains a non-operational heliport with usable infrastructure. With EU cohesion funds in hand, the new government can make it a reality tomorrow and fulfil the promise made way back in 1968 - better late than never.

I hope the new administration does not dismiss more crucial opportunities and deprive Gozo of the opportunity of soon being connected by air to the rest of Europe as the southernmost regional airfield catering for all general aviation needs, thus stimulating the island's economy.
