Georgia is the fourth country where the European Institute of Education (EIE), Ta' Xbiex, jointly with foreign education institutions, is offering degree courses and joint education programmes that are recognised by both the Maltese and foreign qualifications recognition authorities.

EIE president Antonello Cappitta recently visited Metekhi Public University in Tbilisi, where he inaugurated a new EIE centre and appointed Prof. Manon Kirtbaia as its head. Apart from its local head office it has other centres in the UK and the Czech Republic.
