Valletta crowned champions as Marsaxlokk lose
Valletta are celebrating the Premier League title tonight after Birkirkara beat second-placed Marsaxlokk 2-0, making the destination of the crown a mathematical certainty for the Citizens.
The City last won the title seven years ago.
Birkirkara scored a goal in either half thanks to Joseph Zerafa and Michael Galea.
Valletta today face Floriana in what is expected to be a massive celebration.
Earlier today Pieta beat Mqabba 1-0. Both teams have been relegated tot he first division.
