Gattuso: Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has said he would like to play in the English Premier League. Rumours that Milan stalwart Gattuso was considering leaving have been circling for weeks but the Italy international, who played in Scotland with Rangers in 1997 and 1998, had been quiet on his future until now. "I would like to have the possibility to play in the Premier League," he said yesterday.

Atletico support: Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia has called for the club's fans to get behind the team for today's match against struggling Recreativo Huelva, a match they must win to ensure they remain in fourth place in the table. "I can understand the fans if they whistle the team when they play badly, but they should do that at the end of the game and not at the start," Garcia was quoted as saying in the Spanish media yesterday. "If we want to achieve things we need the support of the fans."

Reading: Reading, battling against relegation from the Premier League, will be without midfielder Emerse Fae and defender Ibrahima Sonko for the match against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend after manager Steve Coppell suspended the pair. Media reports said they had refused to play in a reserve game against Spurs on Monday.

MFA Div. III: Luqa vs Gozo 1-2; Xgħajra vs Mdina 2-1.
