A section of wall on the Victoria Lines was daubed with anti-hunting graffiti on Wednesday, the hunters' federation (FKNK) reported yesterday.
The Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs deplored what it said was a criminal act and appointed a number of people to restore the defaced wall.
The FKNK charged that the act of vandalism was "a vile attempt to undermine Maltese culture and in particular legal and traditional hunting and trapping in Malta and Gozo".
Yesterday the FKNK organised the first of a series of outings "that will follow as necessary around the country that belongs to the Maltese and Gozitans".
