FISEC Council meets federation delegates
"The FISEC Games in Malta this year will not be successful without the continuous support and the considerable and valuable help of the Maltese sports organisations."
This was stated by FISEC Malta chairman Martin Borg earlier this week during a meeting with delegates from national associations directly involved in the Games between July 15 and 21.
Bro Martin said the Games in Malta are always held in high esteem by the visiting delegations. He thanked the main sponsors of the Games, the Malta Sport Council and General Soft Drinks Company Limited.
FISEC Director of Sport, David Azzopardi, said it is essential that all federations represented in the Games should determine their list of entries as soon as possible.
Associations were also asked to nominate a venue manager during the week of the Games as Azzopardi issued a list of responsibilities for these officials.
During the meeting there was also a discussion on the role of the referees. It was agreed that each association will cater for its own competitions.
FISEC International vice president Louis Borg insisted on maintaining the standards of refereeing as happened in past editions. He also confirmed that this year there will be competitions in athletics, swimming, tennis, table tennis, basketball, football, futsal, handball and volleyball.
