Rue d'Argens due to reopen on Sunday

Rue d'Argens in Msida, one of Malta's main traffic arteries, is due to open for traffic at midday on Sunday after almost four months of works, the Malta Transport Authority said.

The road has been closed since January 9. It was originally meant to reopen after nine weeks but another two weeks were added to replace the water mains. It will now open more than five weeks later than that.

Motorists, who had to spend a lot of unnecessary time waiting in traffic, have questioned why such a short stretch of road - around 300 metres - should have taken so long to complete.

Yeah sure ......why don't you go to B'Bugia and see the main road still under construction....it is over 1 year and 2 months now and still a work going on... i wonder when it is going to finish.....some day I guess

So Rue d'Argens took four months! How long will M'Scala Bypass take? And the other road leading to M'Scala from Zabbar? And Labour Road Zabbar?And Triq 10 ta'Settembru also known as it-triq tas-sigar in Zabbar? After four years of EU membership, these roads are still third world standard. They are damaging our vehicles. Surely a few million euros can be spared for these roads to be brought up to standard?
