Gozo Bishop meets parishioners in Toronto, Detroit

Gozo Bishop Mario Grech who is on a pastoral visit in Toronto and Detroit, having a word with young Maltese parishioners at St Frances Cabrini church in Detroit.

Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, who is on a pastoral visit to Canada and Detroit, on Sunday met the Maltese community in the parish of St Paul of Toronto run by the Missionary Society of St Paul.

After concelebrating Mass, Mgr Grech visited the Maltese Canadian Society, the Maltese Soccer Club and the Maltese Band Club.

Yesterday, Mgr Grech called on Toronto Archbishop Thomas Collins at the Curia and later administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to children attending St John Fisher and Georges Vanier schools. Today, he will administer the sacrament to Cardinal Newman schoolchildren.

Tomorrow, he will meet Maltese and Gozitan priests. On Saturday, he is scheduled to meet emigrants at the Mississuaga Convention Centre and on Sunday will concelebrate Mass with Archbishop Collins.

Mgr Grech is accompanied by his personal assistant Fr Eddie Zammit and his secretary Fr Charles Sultana.

I disagree with anyone saying Maltese and Gozitans especially overseas. Gozo is Malta. No need at all to emphasis the difference as there isn't any.

L Dimech saw it fit to criticize the fact that the report stated 'Maltese and Gozitan priests'! So what Mr Dimech? Have you never heard politicians opening meetings with the words Maltese and Gozitans (Maltin u Ghawdxin)? Why not? What's so blasphemous in these words? because they were uttered by some priest or what? Where's the scandal Mr Dimech ?
