Aim high, PM tells workers

Maltese and Gozitan workers are perfectly capable of adapting themselves to the economic changes that the country is going through, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said yesterday.

Speaking during a visit to Dedicated Micros on the occasion of Worker's Day, as part of a series of activities organised by the Nationalist Party, the Prime Minister said the workers were the key to the country's success.

He praised the commitment of companies such as Dedicated Micros, which produces electric and electronic goods and components, that supported and helped their workers to carry on training and studying to be able to take the opportunities of an ever changing world.

The country, he said, needed to continue investing in human resources because it was the people who created and produced quality products that were competitive in a global market.

Workers, Dr Gonzi said, should not lose confidence. They should be ambitious and aim high. The more ambitious they were, the more value added products would be created, to beat the competition and increase the profits of Maltese companies and industries operating from Malta.
